I was looking at Empagio web site again recently and noticed Seth's bogus claim to have been president of paychex is no longer there. Looks like the paychex lawyers got wise to it and forced it's removal. I am sure he will still claim this in person though. In addition, his bogus story of purchasing Stromberg and growing by a grossly inflated amount and selling it to paychex has also been removed.
When will this boy realize he cant continue to spread these types of lies and get away with it. The past will always catch up with you.
He can trick people most time, but he can not trick all the people all the time.
I was wondering how long he was going to keep in the web site been the CEO of Paychex. One more of his many lies.
I enjoyed monitoring the topix thread but apparently they removed it. That after slowly deleting all of the posts. I guess little Seth does watch the internet and thinks he can cover his tracks and keep people from finding out other people's opinions of him. And yes, he continues to try to "clean up his image" in written form - like removing his bold-face lies from his bio on the Empagio website (I hear he was legally forced to remove the "fabrications").
While I can't speak to the validity of any of the unsubstantiated posts on topix, I did grab a page of them before they were deleted. Here they are for your enjoyment. You will note that many had already been deleted by the time I grabbed this page:

? If you are successful at selling the product - yes, as I'm certain that includes commission. I can tell you after being in the industry for over 12 years, the competition is pretty stiff and anyone that meets Seth will more than likely not want to do business with him - or a company he owns.

These salaries are probably "what you can make on commission", if you are top in sales - or perhaps a technology manager who oddly gets a bonus based on the quantity, not quality, of product releases.

Smoke and mirrors, I hoped he takes care of sales, he will definitely sell everyone on the idea of something fabulous, just like he has done at every other place he has been. It is very interesting that these executives all have a common place at Zurich. They no doubt have had their little boys club for a while. I do feel sorry for the employees that will eventually get duped just like everyone else. I wonder how long it will be before he brags about the Ferrari? Or how many time they will get to hear the passion speech only to see the company eventually sold, but of course not for their benefit but for the good of the company.
No doubt the other posts have been made by people that know this snake all too well. Best of luck to all.

Seth is an interesting character all right. Worked with him while he was at Stromberg. No doubt, he pumped up the numbers. Unfortunately that same pump can not be used to motivate employees - particularly when they are being underpaid at the same time. Keep the "Passion" speech for someone who believes it, sport ... your money may impress some, but unfortunately your immaturity belies you.

According to the SEC Filings By Crestview Captial, a major shareholder in HALO, Seth may have been involved in some less than ethical behavior during the due dilegence phase of the aquisition. Suprised? NO.
Crestview is reserving all legal and other rights and remedies available to them.

I've been watching this thread with interest. I noticed today that a number of posts disappeared. Yesterday there were 24 - today there are 17 including several new ones. If you look at the post numbers intermittant posts are now gone. Anyone know why that might be?

We're not quite sure whether this is inaccurate reporting or an investor speaking out of line. Seth Bernstein, president of Stromberg, a subsidiary of Paychex Inc., says he's buying the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx (Class AA; Southern League) and will move the team next season to a new ballpark complex in Orlando. Previous reports had Timothy Bennett's Overtime Sports (which does have an Orlando office, by the way) buying the team. We're not quite sure how seriously to take the article -- Bernstein claims to be talking with Davey Johnson about managing the team, and anyone buying the Jaxx would realize the parent team (in this case, the Cubs) provides the manager. Then again, Orlando's WFTV is reporting the same thing, presumably independently of the Times-Union, an update New York newspaper. UPDATE: The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx front office issued the following:
The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx responded today to an article in an Orlando, Florida publication in which an individual identified as Seth Bernstein indicated that he is purchasing the franchise and relocating the team to Orlando, Florida. In this article, Mr. Bernstein also indicated that former Major League Manager Davey Johnson would manage the club. At the same time, the team confirmed that terms of a new lease had been agreed to that would permit the team to remain in Jackson.
A team spokesman stated: "Mr. Bernstein’s claims that he is purchasing the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx and relocating the team to Orlando after the 2006 season are erroneous. No such agreement was ever reached; indeed no such offer was ever made. Moreover, Orlando is not a Southern League territory but rather is enveloped in the Florida State League’s territory. Therefore, if Mr. Bernstein wishes to purchase a Minor League franchise and relocate it to Orlando, he would need to discuss the matter with Mike Moore, the President of Minor League Baseball, and representatives of the Florida State League. We are aware of no such discussions by Mr. Bernstein or anyone acting on his behalf. Further, it is important to note that our franchise is a Chicago Cubs affiliate and that the Chicago Cubs handle all field -- staff and player -- personnel matters -- and we are aware of no communications between the Cubs and Mr. Johnson.
"At the same time, the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx are pleased to announce that we have come to an agreement with the City of Jackson, TN on a new three year lease agreement that would keep AA Southern League Baseball in Jackson. After gaining the support of our City leaders, the Team’s principal focus is to make baseball work in Jackson. Our 2006 season will begin at Pringles Park on April 17th against the Mississippi Braves and we look forward to working with the Jackson community to have a successful season both on and off the field."

How do you know when Seth Bernstein is lying? His lips are moving. Run for the hills folks. If his old man hadn't died and left him a boat full of money this guy would probably be in jail and he just might end up there anyhow. I google Seth's name every couple of months just to see who he is screwing next.
Was wondering where all these comments had gone. Looks like they are cleaning them up as quickly as they are posted. Good to have a place to discuss.

Wow! The posters have really nailed Seth! My favorite Seth lie (and their are sooo many of them) was when he said that Stromberg was the 2nd largest time and attendance company. I think Stromberg's sales were about $10M and Kronos was $500M. Just a slight drop off. Also, he hired Dee Brown (former Celtic basketball player) as his COO. Too bad the only way that Seth can beat the competition is on the basketball court.

All signs point to Seth wanting to build up the revenues of these merged companies by selling anything and everything, churn and burn the sales force, to heck with deliverables and ultimately sell the whole thing off. Unitime has already had layoffs due to the merger and workstream will be next in line. Workstream employees beware!

You should expect promises after promises. Promises of bonuses, better benefits, ethic and team work… The truth is other: Bonuses are lies (you might get $5, something is better than nothing). Better benefits means, you will pay more for your benefits. There is no ethic. And for that team already in place, divide & conquer is his motto, you won’t last unless you are tie for real. You will see everybody turning against everybody trying to please Seth. He will also bring managers as bad as Seth. Managers that do not know what they are doing other than been Seth’s puppets!!! Welcome to "Flip That Company", the latest reality show craze to hit wallstreet. He'll make deep cuts so it looks like improvements were made. Then he'll try to sell it off as quick as he can and take his 60% profit off of his "$150 million" valuation. I hope he gets stuck with it and actually has to run it for awhile, then we'll see what the valuation actually is. And if anyone tries to buy it from him, well I hope they do their diligence and don't take anything on the the back end :)

Seth Bernstein should not be allowed to do business in Lake Mary, FL,- Heathrow, FL,- Maitland, FL,- Orlando, FL or ANYWHERE else in this country (and other countries beware)! I've even heard he cooks the books (which Paychex must have covered up... the nice article put out about his resignation had that the rumor seeming a bit more suspicious…and a cover-up by Paychex a real possibility). He should be investigated for all his crooked methods and thrown in jail – once and for all!
What’s even more frightening is this new company he’s took over, Empagio (located in downtown Orlando, FL) is related to Human resources outsourcing for HR executives. Seth Bernstein and Human Resources… uggg. Kinda makes me feel like the last guy… with spit-up in my mouth. You should see the massive number of lies he wrote about himself on the Empagio, Company -> Management Team -> webpage.
Seth Bernstein is obviously delusional… and now the truth comes out. Freedom of Speech rocks! I guess you forgot about those simple little constitutional rights, huh Seth? Trust me, politics will not ever go anywhere for you. You can count on that.

I can't log into that blog thing, and there isn't anything posted there. I am trying to find out what is happening with Bernstein. My friend is considering a position with one of his companies.
I did some poking around and now I see all this "stuff" and want to make sure she doesn't go to work for someone who is going to fire her a week later!

So far all I've seen that is negative is coming from this list, and nothing to justify the accusations.
I don't care who you are, I just want to be pointed to some actual article or data that says he's fraudulent, so I can make sure my boyfriend doesn't get hammered a week after he signs on with this group.

I quick read indicates (most likely) Empagio didn't deliver audited financials that footed to all the wonderful things Seth was telling them. Since he has a habit of telling people he has bought companies that he clearly hasn't, my bet would be that he told them Empagio was much bigger than it was by including several acquisitions that hadn't really happened yet. Just my guess.
But you can't help but smile when wonderful things happen to wonderful people.
The sad thing of all this is that no matter how many people hate on seth, no matter who here or anywhere says something bad, im afraid that he will, and i have no doubt of this, become a very rich succesful man with a huge company udner his belt. If you havent noticed, what he is doing with all the lies and deciet and emtpy promises is exactly what every major CEO in the nation does. You may hate, but all the disgust and hatred and warnings you spit out are worth nothing if you really want him stopped. I somehow trust he won't get away with all his shady deals, nor will he win all his lawsuits - and now it seems after his bogus lawsuits against others (who knows how many), there's someone coming after him.
It’s just easy to trust karma when it comes to him – whether you believe in karma or not. All I have to do is think of him and I get a feeling… he turns my stomach in a way I’ve never felt for any person before. It feels like evil, if there’s such a feeling. And, now since I’ve added this new comment, my tummy is quite twisted up. It’s this gut feeling that makes it easy to trust in karma.

I would have to say, that he is a good person, No matter what has been supposedly said or written. The business world is a "dog eat dog world". So by your postings about karma and what not. I would have to say your spewing off badly about someone who you don't even know personally is just as heartless at you supposedly think he is. But I first hand have been helped numerous times by Seth and his family. And I have seen him help NUMEROUS charities,individuals and the less fortunate and he has NEVER asked for anything in return from those people. He is a great father, friend, and businessman. There's a lot not to like about Seth, but he will likely be successful with his current endeavor.
At the root level, I think he's the definition of psychopath: completely self-absorbed with no regard for others. However, they say 70% of psychopaths active in society are in business as salespeople.
He lives in a world where morals are fuzzy, and he's been taken advantage of by lawyers and bankers as often as he's tried to take advantage of others.
But he is no puppet master. The day-to-day operations of his current organization are managed by talented people. Beneath those talented managers are more talented people. In an ideal world, the owner of the company is a leader and mentor who forms the personality and direction of the organization. The current group has done a good job of creating their own culture that circumvents him, so they will likely be successful.
For those of you interested in karma, he's miserably unhappy. He might be successful, but it will never fill that void. The irony is that if the void were filled, he wouldn't need to inflate himself in the public eye.

Looks like Seth will again own Stromberg, the deal is set to go down at the end of the quarter.
Stromberg is a ghost town right now, no one wants to work for him. I took today off, along with most of the rest of the company, to find a new job.
Sadly it looks like Stromberg is no more. Maybe Seth will buy Kronos now. :->

What is the current status of his Empower company? Are they solvent? I heard they were burning through capital and were practically giving their software away in order to acquire clients. How happy are their employees? Will there be layoffs, are there indications of Seth selling Empower? Another pump & dump?

I've worked at Stromberg, Empagio, and was laid off from Empower. Seth is a bully that picks on anyone that dares to cross him. He told me he would give me a bonus of 5k for every Stromberg Employee I stole over to Empagio. I got about 6-8 people to leave to join this stupid man. I was paid 1k per and told not to bother him about it again. While he was asked about promised options that had been issued but not acknowledged for a few years, he spun off promises of a cash holiday bonus for everyone in the company if they hit goals. We nailed those goals all year but come December, nothing but another promise that our company was acquiring more companies and this would mean our jobs were safe. More bonus money promised...none given. Next after I had given all I could in this belief that was being sold to me for 3+ years, I was given a pink slip without reason. I know for a fact he cooked the books at Stromberg and Empagio....Empower fired him after Lake Capital took it over. He leaves people that hate him and sadness everywhere he has been. He tries to scare people into thinking he can control their lives beyond work. He sent a letter to a man and his wife and everyone in the new company he worked for....He was told if he left that Seth would follow him anywhere he tried to go and he would ruin him. He left anyway and Seth's Lawyers sent threatening letters calling him all sorts of slanderous things. This man is not a man...he's a ginger that was bullied a lot as a kid and now that he has (he'll tell you) billions of dollars, he thinks he can do anything to anyone that he wants. That's the truth. I have a great job now and am happy to be free of his bull. Beware.
